Hold lawmakers responsible for pension mess

Mike Madigan wants the taxpayer to believe that the state voluntarily paid the pensions of the state. Wrong. The 1970 State Constitution which Madigan helped to write says that it is the state’s responsibility to pay for the pension system. Now Madigan wants to shift the problem onto the suburban and downstate school districts. But I believe that would take an amendment to the state constitution. That could not be an easy thing to do.

The governor and the state lawmakers are responsible for the pension mess. I’ll bet the pensions have been paid for the lawmakers all this time.

The school districts are partiality responsible for the problem because they pass out large salary increases and bonuses that they shouldn’t have.

All lawmakers responsible for this mess should lose their right to any and all pensions that they have coming from the taxpayers.
