Police said the driver made a right-hand turn to pick up the tubers, which caused Martin to fall from the boat. The boat's propeller struck Martin, who was not wearing a life jacket, causing severe injuries.

Emergency crews responded to Lake Latonka at 3:16 p.m. and transported Martin to a hospital in Plymouth, Ind., where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, Jackson said.

Jackson said Martin was on the lake spending time with his family when the accident occurred.

Police are not seeking charges against the driver.
