This fabulous, recently-remodeled cedar home is located on one of the best kept secrets in Lake County -- Long Lake near Ingleside. Long Lake is one of the smaller and more secluded waterways in the 15-lake Chain O' Lakes.

The 335-acre lake, which offers outstanding opportunities for boaters, sailors, fishermen and water skiers, absent the crowds found on some of the area's larger lakes, is connected to Fox Lake by a series of channels.

Long Lake is well known for sailing and year-round fishing, including ice fishing. Other sports permitted on or near the lake include jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, wake boarding, swimming, snowmobiling, ice skating, and cross country skiing.

Residents of this home have more than 800 feet of lake frontage with a small beach and a large private pier and boat ramp that allow owners to take full advantage of the lake.

The home itself is also oriented toward the lake with huge walls of windows to allow spectacular views from both the first and second floors. It also features radiant-heated floors, a gourmet kitchen and two deluxe four-car garages.

Listing agent Raymond Anderson of Coldwell Banker Residential in Arlington Heights offers more details:

What is this home's hidden gem?

"The expansive first-floor living area has more than 50 feet of glass to the east with unobstructed views of Long Lake and another 30 feet of glass to the south to enjoy the view while relaxing, entertaining or preparing the perfect meal in the gourmet kitchen. The second-floor master bedroom has a connecting office or sitting room, both with broad, unobstructed views of the lake."

What would your perfect buyer look like?

"The next owner of this house can either be a year-round resident who would love the resort-like feel for the family or someone looking for the gold standard of summer homes. The relatively low maintenance features are perfect for the young family or part-time resident. Just a five-minute drive to the local Metra station makes commuting to Chicago a breeze."

What is the coolest thing about living in this neighborhood?

"One of the coolest things about living in this house is the relaxed lifestyle that comes with it. It seems that peace and serenity are automatic responses when you drive down the lane and arrive at your home. Family-and-friend picnics will become a staple."

What is one adjective you'd use to describe the house?

"Resort-like. To live here is almost like being on a constant vacation."

What about the yard?

"The acre lot has mature landscaping punctuated by a massive, century-old cottonwood tree on the lakefront with a 40-foot rope swing. Annual and perennial flowers compliment the scene."
