Penn State deserves what it gets
The Freeh report on the Penn State scandal: How disgusting! How revolting! My heart aches for all these young boys. Will they ever be able to trust a man again? Now with all the publicity of this report those horrific memories will all come back. How very, very sad for all of them and their families. I know it will take courage on their part, but I hope every one of them sues Penn State.
I believe that the cover-up is almost worse than the original criminal act. So many more boys and young men were sexually abused after the fact. Today, those employees fearful of losing their jobs if they reported any sexual abuse could just take a picture on an iPhone and send it to the press. Thank goodness for the Fourth Estate that investigates and reports on graft, corruption and criminal behavior.
Guess the trustees and the president of the university were not doing their jobs. All everybody was thinking about was the money coming in because of football. What a terrible legacy.
Don’t remove Joe Paterno’s brass statute. Drape it instead in symbols of child abuse as a reminder for all future Penn State students of the evil of the cover-up. I can’t help but wonder how former Penn State graduates feel about this awful football scandal.
