Relay For Life almost hits goal

On behalf of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Kane County committee, I would like to say “Wow!”

Thanks to your support, Relay For Life of Kane County had 75 teams participate, celebrated alongside more than 200 survivors and caregivers and watched as nearly 500 luminaria were lit to honor loved ones.

While the event was a great celebration of survivors, remembrance of those we have lost and an all-around success, we are still $60,000 short in reaching our goal to help in the fight against cancer. Fortunately, if you missed Relay, you can still play a part in helping others stay well, get well and fight back.

The money we raise through Relay enables the American Cancer Society to continue to lead the way in advancing cancer prevention by funding cancer research, programs to help the newly-diagnosed and services to cancer patients such as free new wigs and free rides to and from treatment.

Chances are at some point in your life you, a family member, a friend or a co-worker will be touched by cancer. By donating to Relay not only are you fighting cancer, you’re joining the ones you love most in the battle they fight every day.

To donate visit relayforlife.org or call your local American Cancer Society at (630) 879-8562. We hope you will continue to partner with us to save lives faster and create a world with more birthdays.
