KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An East Tennessee judge has agreed to send an adult teen, abandoned by her mother in a bar, back to her Algonquin home.

According to The Knoxville News Sentinel Judge John McAfee ruled for Campbell County Chancery Court on Wednesday that Illinois officials will assume custody of 19-year-old Lynn Cameron.

The intellectually disabled teen was left in a Caryville bar June 28. Eva Cameron told police that she left her daughter because "she couldn't handle her anymore."

McAfee noted that Illinois officials have found a suitable placement for Lynn Cameron that will provide appropriate services to her.

Eva Cameron told police she couldn't take care of both Lynn and a younger daughter, who is also disabled. No charges were filed.
