Competitors sought for Elk Grove Challenge

The Elk Grove Challenge will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11. The challenge is three-race events, on one day, sponsored by the Elk Grove Park District.

A Super Sprint Tri which is an adult triathlon, starts at 7 a.m., with a minimum age of 14, and a Kids Fun Tri, for ages 7-13, starts at 8:30 a.m. The third event is the Corporate Challenge which allows a team of three, where one member swims, one cycles and one runs. The Corporate Challenge is the same distance as the Super Sprint Tri and also starts at 7 a.m.

Registration is being taken online at www.runrace.net.

The Elk Grove Challenge is a great way for all levels of athletes to compete. The course will take place around the Jack A. Claes Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave., in Elk Grove Village. The swim portion of the challenge will be at the Pavilion pools. The biking begins 901 Leicester Road and continues through the neighborhood streets in the area.

There is no charge to Elk Grove Village residents ages 7 to 14. Fees and instructions are at runrace.net.
