• Earrings, a gold necklace, a wedding ring and other jewelry -- worth a combined $1,900 -- were stolen from the 0-99 block of Margaret's Lane near Aurora between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. July 8, according to a sheriff's report.

• Someone set fire to the grass around a detention pond near Windsor Drive and Whispering Trail near St. Charles between 5 and 5:30 p.m. July 11, according to a sheriff's report. No homes were reported damaged.

• Someone broke the windows on a Ford Explorer in the 800 block of Birchwood Road near Aurora at about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to a sheriff's report. The windows were either punched or kicked as deputies found blood spatters on the glass, the report stated.

• A lawn mower was stolen from the curbside in the 39W300 block of Haladay Lane near Geneva around 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff's report.
