We can’t legislate integrity, work ethic

I have always tried to be receptive and respectful concerning the concept of an America for all, but this election upcoming in November is surely to be one of a different view of “hope and change.”

Ronald Reagan said it best when he asked if we “were better off than we were four years ago?” The response is clearly no. We cannot continue to spend beyond our means, even if our intentions are good. Demonizing those that we disagree with, while gladly taking their revenue at the same time is obscene. Vilifying corporations but needing them for jobs is duplicitous. Viewing people and entities as good and evil only divides us further.

I realize that we live in a politically correct world, where virtually everyone is a victim and entitled to whatever their heart desires, but the reality is that this current administration will in the end, deliver a lethal blow to American exceptionalism in the near future. If we had true democracy, then we should have had a national consensus revealed in a health care referendum in 2010. This goes for immigration reform as well.

Reagan also stated that we in America had a “government for the people” and not the other way around, as it appears to be these days. Most folks do not need the government to tell them how to think and act in their daily lives. We cannot legislate integrity, determination and a return to a prideful American work ethic. This spiritual reform must be made by each individual, parent and family.

“We the people” needs to be reflected in those that we elect; our current leader has divided this nation like no other.

Show up in November, regardless of who you vote for; sometimes liberty needs a wake up call.
