Grand jury investigating Daley nephew case

A grand jury is investigating the 2004 death of a man following a fight with the nephew of former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.
The special prosecutor appointed to the case told reporters Wednesday he's empaneled a grand jury and the investigation is moving quickly.
The special prosecutor is former U.S. attorney Dan Webb. He says the grand jury has full subpoena powers and the authority to compel witnesses to testify. He says the case is complicated by the time that's passed since the death of 21-year-old David Koschman of Mount Prospect.
Koschman and Daley nephew Richard Vanecko got into a fight outside a Chicago bar. Koschman fell and struck his head after Vanecko punched him. He died days later. Koschman's family has contended there was a police cover-up during the initial investigation.
