Stove fire causes minor damage in Lisle

No injuries were reported Tuesday in a stove fire that caused minor damage to an apartment in Lisle, authorities said.

Firefighters said they responded at 11:42 a.m. to a 911 call from a resident reporting a fire in a two-story apartment building at 4701 Beau Bien. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a stove.

Authorities said the resident apparently was using the stove’s self-cleaning feature but was unaware there was a pot of grease in the oven. No damage estimates were available, but firefighters said the residents will be able to return to the apartment.
