Private eye pleads guilty in DuPage child porn case
A private detective from Glendale Heights has pleaded guilty to aggravated child pornography and is awaiting sentencing, authorities said.
Luigi Castillo, 34, was arrested in December after a three-month undercover investigation by the Illinois Attorney General’s High Tech Crimes Bureau. He pleaded guilty Tuesday in exchange for prosecutors capping their sentencing recommendation at 3 1/2 years in prison.
Castillo was accused of having pornographic images of infants and children through age 9 on his computer, according to court records, which identify him as a private detective. DuPage County Judge Kathryn Creswell accepted his plea and scheduled sentencing for Aug. 20.
Castillo, of the 2000 block of Juniper Court, could receive probation, jail or a minimum three years in prison. Had he been convicted at trial, he could have faced up to seven years.
