Two fires in Warrenville

The Warrenville Fire Department battled two fires at about the same time Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Jeff Phene of the Warrenville Fire Department said firefighters received a call at 2:44 p.m. reporting a garage on fire at 3S612 Virginia Ave.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the garage “fully involved” with one vehicle inside.

One firefighter was sent to an area hospital for heat exhaustion. Phene could not say which hospital, or how much damages cost from the fire.

Firefighters also reported to a single-family house on fire at 2:36 p.m. at 3S266 Blackthorn Lane.

Phene said there were no rescues or injuries, but that the whole house was affected by the fire, with much of it sustaining smoke damage.

The estimated cost of damages is between $70,000 and $90,000. The cause is still under investigation.
