• A Diamondback Sorrento men's bicycle was stolen between 6:20 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Monday off the rack it was locked to at the Metra station, 328 Crescent Place, according to police.

• A Samsung Infuse cellphone that had been left on a counter in a business in the 1500 block of South Randall Road was stolen between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. June 23. It was later found in a nearby Dumpster, police said.


• The Batavia Public Library Tuesday reported to police the theft of books and DVDs, and accumulations of late fines, by four patrons. The total value is $1,221.72. A library spokesman said reporting to police is usually a last attempt to get the materials back.
