For those who enjoy DuPage open spaces

I was very excited to hear the announcement that Don Kirchenberg will be running for DuPage Forest Preserve District commissioner in District 2. I have known Don for a good many years through his work with the Friends of The Great Western Trails.

We have also worked together on many other issues that were vital to the environment of DuPage County. Don is very principled and passionate about issues that involve the environment and open spaces of our county and will put the interests of citizens like you and me first in his role on the forest preserve board.

His stated goals of stopping single bidder contracts, working to reduce the $50.000-plus salaries paid to the board and make the forest preserve board meetings more accessible address issues that long have been neglected by the current board.

More importantly I trust Don to make sound decisions that put the health and well-being of the citizens of DuPage County first on any issue that may come before the board in the future.

I urge all my friends in District 2 to throw your full support behind Don not only for his sake but for the sake of all of us who enjoy clean and enjoyable open spaces in DuPage County.
