Gun control hardly a success in Germany

“This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future.” Adolf Hitler, 1935

We all know where that led — World War II and the many lives lost, the Holocaust and the murder of 6 million Jews, just for being Jews. And yet, those who want us to think that the solution to all the killing by guns in the wrong hands is to take the freedom to keep and bear arms from all citizens in America.

The ground in New England and the Middle Atlantic states was saturated by the blood of those who gave their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor to secure our freedoms which became known as The Bill of Rights. Among those freedoms are free speech, free exercise of religion, the right to keep and bear arms.

Today, those who quote the Bible regarding God’s perspective on homosexual activity are in danger of being charged with a hate crime, even when doing so from the pulpit of their churches.

Gun control is being pushed in all 50 states and federally. It will be an issue in the presidential campaigns. Religious organizations are being required to follow government policy even when it conflicts with their deeply held beliefs.

For the Germans it began with gun control. We must not let history repeat itself here in America. The answer is a return to God, to absolute truth and morality, to valuing and respecting life and teaching our children and grandchildren to do the same.

Gun violence has increased since we moved away from the standards upon which our nation was built. We are without hope if we do not turn back.
