Man stabbed in the chest in Schaumburg
Schaumburg police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a Schaumburg man outside a currency exchange early Monday evening.
Two men, who are both residents of Schaumburg, got in an altercation inside a currency exchange near the intersection of South Roselle Road and Hartford Drive just before 6 p.m., police said.
The fight spilled out onto the sidewalk, and one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the chest, Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl said.
Police said the man was stabbed once, but suffered a serious injury.
Nebl said the men were acquaintances, and police were searching for the known suspect as of 8:30 p.m.
The stabbing victim was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to police.
