Fox River Grove police: Help identify burglar

A dozen burglaries to motor vehicles have been reported since April 26 in two subdivisions in Fox River Grove, and police are asking for help in identifying a person caught on tape by a home surveillance video.

In all instances the vehicles had been left unlocked in the Foxmoor and Hunters Farm subdivisions, Police Chief Ron Lukasik said. Items removed from the vehicles include electronics such as GPS systems, as well as credit cards and loose change.

One of the four burglaries in the Foxmoor subdivision was caught on tape about 3:15 a.m. April 26 by a home surveillance system. Fox River Grove police are asking the community to view two YouTube videos to help identify the burglar, who appears to be a white man in his late teens or early 20s, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 tall, with short hair and a medium build, Lukasik said.

“Everybody here looked at the images. We sent it to some other area departments, but we didn’t have any luck identifying him,” he said.

If you have any information to assist in solving these crimes or identifying the man, call Fox River Grove police at (847) 639-2411 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 762-7867.
