Volunteers Welcome to Park Pride Clean & Green Day

The Addison Park District is seeking volunteers to help spruce up neighborhood parks for its annual Park Pride event on Saturday, May 12 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will meet at Community Park, 120 E. Oak Street before dividing into teams and leaving for their selected community park.

This event is a great opportunity for scouting groups, civic organizations, families and students seeking community service hours. Participants will spend time planting flowers, cleaning up the parks and spreading mulch while spending time as a community beautifying Addison. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants and sturdy shoes for this outdoor activity and will receive a free event t-shirt and invitation to a Volunteer cookout starting at 12:00 Noon in Community Park.

In addition to the Volunteer cookout in Community Park, State Senator Carole Pankau and State Representative Dennis Reboletti will be present for a special dedication ceremony of the newly installed playground in Community Park. The celebration will also include entertainment provided by the personalities of Radio Disney's "Road Crew" who will be giving away one pair of tickets to one winner to a concert by "One Direction."

Pre-registration is recommended by calling 630-833-0100 or downloading a Volunteer Roster from the website at www.addisonparks.org . Requests for a particular park site will be granted on a first come, first served basis. Volunteers are welcomed to bring your own rake or favorite tools to assist with cleanup projects.
