Hossa injured in first period of Game 3

Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa was taken off the ice on a stretcher midway through the first period after taking a hit to the head by Raffi Torres of the Phoenix Coyotes Tuesday at the United Center.

The incident occurred near center ice shortly after Hossa had passed the puck. Torres appeared to leave his feet and deliver a shoulder to the head of Hossa, who lay motionless for minutes afterward.

Torres was not penalized on the play.
