A Schaumburg man faces felony drug charges after Schaumburg police said they discovered heroin and drug paraphernalia in his car during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
Rudy Garcia, 19, was being held in Cook County jail Saturday following his arrest. Police reports said Garcia had 0.3 grams of heroin, four syringes and a metal cylinder used to "cook" the drug in his possession.
In court Saturday morning, Garcia told Judge Hyman Riebman that he had been kicked out of his house and will stay with his grandmother when he posts $1,000 bail.
Riebman, who told Garcia "I hate to see you go kill yourself with drugs," gave Garcia several conditions of his bond, including a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew, a ban on alcohol and drugs, weekly phone check-ins with the probation division, and random drug testing.
Garcia's next court date is May 4.
