SAN ANTONIO -- The Chicago Wolves and San Antonio Rampage traded goals through the first 40 minutes of play but the Rampage netted the lone goal in the third period to hand the Wolves a 2-1 defeat Wednesday night at the AT&T Center.

Michael Davies scored the lone goal for the Wolves (38-26-3-3), who remained 3 points ahead of the Charlotte Checkers for first place in the AHL's Midwest Division with six games left in the regular season.

The Rampage (38-28-3-2) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 9:03 mark the third period when Scott Timmins beat Wolves goaltender Eddie Lack (30 saves).
