Children’s author presents ‘Titanic Remembered’ in Schaumburg

Friendship Village in Schaumburg will team up with children’s author and storytelling performer Lynn Rymarz to give area residents a night to remember with a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on April 13.

“Titanic Remembered” will consist of both an early-dinner event costing $25 and Rymarz’s free, one-woman show as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” at 7:30 p.m.

Both halves of the event will occur on the campus of Friendship Village at 350 W. Schaumburg Road, west of Roselle Road.

Those wishing to buy advance tickets for the dinner event or reservations for Rymarz’s performance should call Donna Brown, activity manager at Friendship Village, at (847) 843-4254.

Entertainment will begin at 3:30 p.m. for early arrivals for the 4:30 p.m. dinner. Attendees will cross a gangplank into the event where they will see performances by re-enactors, singers and a string trio from the Schaumburg Youth Orchestra both before and during the two-hour dinner.

Those who wish to attend Rymarz’s performance in the auditorium will have enough time to get there after the conclusion of the dinner, Brown said.
