Man charged with DUI after crashing into store

A man was charged with DUI Friday night after crashing his car into a store in a Carpentersville strip mall.
John Mingey, 68, of the 6800 block of Highgate Road in Carpentersville, ran his Toyota Camry into Hot Masala, 2257 Randall Road, at 8:53 p.m., Carpentersville police Cmdr. Tim Bosshart said.

Hot Masala, an ethnic grocery store, was closed for the evening.
Bosshart said Mingey bonded out Friday night, and police called a cab for him to get home. No injuries were reported from the crash.
