Chicago Express clips Kalamazoo Wings

KALAMAZOO. Mich. — The Chicago Express killed off eight Kalamazoo power plays en route to a 4-3 win at Wings Stadium on Friday night.

Trailing 1-0 early, the Express tied the score on Aaron Marvin’s goal at 4:27 of the first period, took the lead at 13:23 when Max Gratchev converted a rebound and grabbed a 3-1 advantage with 3.5 seconds left on Taylor Ellington’s slap shot.

The Express took a 4-1 lead in the second period on Danick Paquette’s goal before the Wings rallied with a pair of goals. Goalie Rob Madore (39 saves) stopped 14 shots in the third period to ice the Express win.
