Disciplinary hearing for Des Plaines cop delayed

Monday’s scheduled Des Plaines Fire and Police Commission disciplinary hearing for two city police officers facing misconduct charges has been pushed back to April 3.

Officer Andy Contreras, who remains on administrative leave with pay, originally was set to appear before commissioners March 12, but the matter was rescheduled to Monday. Now, with the latest cancellation, the disciplinary hearing will take place at 9 a.m. April 3 in the council chambers at City Hall, 1420 Miner St.

Patrol officer John Bueno, whose employment was terminated March 2, has opted for a neutral third-party arbitrator to hear his case instead of the police and fire commission.
