D62 foundation thanks benefit supporters

On Feb. 24, the School District 62 Foundation Board hosted a benefit dinner at Café la Cave in Des Plaines. On behalf of the children in the District 62 schools, the Foundation Board members would like to thank all of the community members, businesses, state and local officials, teachers, and parents who supported this fundraising effort.

The nearly 200 individuals who attended enjoyed a lovely dinner, outstanding musical entertainment provided by the popular Bottle Band from St. Luke’s Church in Park Ridge, a silent auction, and raffles. Many thanks to all who attended and to our major donors — Café la Cave, the Des Plaines Education Association, Gallagher Benefit Services Inc., Jeanine LaCerba of Gigi’s Blossoms and Baskets, Maxine and Doug Hubbard, Burke and Sue Oehrlein of Oehrlein & Oehrlein P.C., R.C. Wahl Jewelers of Des Plaines, and Wight and Co.

Thanks to your generous support, the Foundation was able to raise over $14,000 for our mini-grants and other programs that benefit all of the children in grades K-8 in the District 62 schools.
