Another attempted assault reported in Villa Park

Villa Park police said Friday they’re investigating another attempted assault involving two men who approached teens as they walked home.

It’s the second such incident in as many days.

A 13-year-old girl told police that she was approached by two men at 3:44 p.m. Thursday near Madison Street and Wisconsin Avenue as she walked home from Jackson Middle School.

The men were traveling in a small black pickup truck with rust along the passenger wheel wells.

The girl said one of the men, described as a heavyset black man between 30 and 40 years old, grabbed her arm and attempted to lure her toward their vehicle from the passenger’s side. She was able to pull away from the man and run away, police said.

About 7 p.m. Wednesday, police say, two juveniles were walking home from a restaurant in the area of Summit and Maple avenues when an attempted sexual assault and robbery occurred. Police did not release a description of what exactly occurred.

The black male suspect was described as approximately 5’7” wearing a black sweatshirt and light blue jeans. In the Wednesday incident, he was reported to be wearing a dark knit cap.

The other suspect, believed to be the driver of the vehicle in both incidents, is described as a heavyset Hispanic man between 30 to 40 years old with a mustache, balding head, a tear drop tattoo under his left eye and a tattoo on his right ring finger. In the first incident, he was wearing a dark knit cap and no shirt. In the second incident, he was wearing a black sweatshirt.
