Des Plaines removing infested ash trees

Des Plaines will be removing several ash trees from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, along Wolf Road, between Rand Road and Cumberland Circle, because of emerald ash borer infestation.

Southbound Wolf Road will be closed from Rand Road to Cumberland Circle between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Local traffic is encouraged to use Stratford Road on the west side and Eighth Avenue on the east side. Southbound truck traffic will be detoured at Rand Road to Golf Road on the east side and Mount Prospect Road on the west side. Garbage collection will not be affected.
