North and Jiggetts plan '20th anniversary' sports show at Arlington Park

Chicago sports broadcast personalities Dan Jiggetts and Mike North will reunite for a live show, “The Monsters 20th Anniversary Event,” on March 8 at Arlington Park.

The show will be video recorded before a live audience in the Million Room at the racetrack, with an edited one-hour version of the event available for online purchase shortly after it takes place.

Reserved-seat tickets are $50 and include a buffet dinner and two drink coupons redeemable for beer, wine or soft drinks. A cocktail cash bar also will be available.

Tickets are on sale today at www.arlingtonpark.com. Sales by telephone will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 at (847) 385-7410.

Jiggetts and North debuted their “Monsters of the Midday” radio program 20 years ago as part of the launch of Chicago's WSCR sports radio station, known as “The Score,” which is now at 670-AM. They co-hosted the program for eight years and later maintained their broadcast partnership through other ventures.

The Arlington Park event is a creation of North's production company, Lucky Dog Productions, which says the event will feature highlights of Jiggetts and North's favorite moments in sports, as well as banter between the two hosts and celebrity guests. The evening will be a celebration of “their love of sports, die-hard fans and 20-year partnership,” according to a news release.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the program to begin at 6:30 p.m. March 8.

The anniversary show is the first program in what North and Lucky Dog expect to be a series of on-demand videos. The video from this show is slated to be sold for $4.99.

It will be available for sale beginning March 9 or 10 on North's Mike North Entertainment Network website, NorthtoNorth.com, or via the websites of program sponsors, which include the Daily Herald, Pro Football Weekly, Fox Sports Radio, Big Ten Network, WIND 560-AM radio, The Custom Companies, Flood Brothers Disposal, WCIU Channel 26, Vienna Beef and American Mattress.
