Police: Man charged in Park Ridge slaying
A Chicago man has been charged in connection to a Park Ridge murder that police said was over a drug transaction.On Feb. 9 at about 2:30 a.m. police found Henry Nowak, 39, unresponsive in the 200 block of Summit Avenue near a parking lot with his hands bound in front of him.
On Sunday, surveillance teams and Chicago police officers arrested Yuron Robinson, 34, of Chicago on first degree murder charges as he was attempting to board a bus in downtown Chicago that was headed to Iowa, authorities announced Wednesday.
A joint investigation by the Major Case Assistance Team and Park Ridge Police Department linked Robinson to the crime, which occurred after an argument over drug money.
Police said Nowak left his apartment to meet Robinson in the Edison Park area the night of Feb. 8. and an argument ensued over money that Robinson owed Nowak.
Police called the murder an isolated incident and said it remains under investigation.
