3 face drug charges in Carol Stream
Three people were charged in connection with a drug investigation in a Carol Stream apartment complex, authorities said Tuesday.
Police served search warrants Thursday at residences in the 600 block of East Gundersen Drive where there was suspicion of drug sales, Carol Stream police Sgt. Tom Miller said.
The three suspects were either friends or family, he said.
Keeyna Sanderson, 33, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and endangering the life/welfare of a child. Miller said Sanderson’s two children — both younger than 10 — were living in the residence where the drugs were found. Police informed the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, which is conducting a follow-up investigation.
Jevontar D. Cooper, 18, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance after police discovered small quantities of crack cocaine and heroin.
Tremayne Franklin, 32, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and for obstructing a peace officer. Police also issued him a seat-belt violation during a traffic stop, since he was leaving his apartment as police were about to serve a search warrant at his residence, Miller said.
