See ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at Cutting Hall

Music On Stage, winner of the Illinois Theatre Association’s Excellence in Theatre award, has announced the cast for its upcoming production of “The Wizard of Oz,” which will be performed Feb. 11 through 26 at Palatine’s Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St.

Featuring a full orchestra and flying effects not often seen on the regional stage, more than 56 children and adults will present the timeless classic at 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. There will also be Saturday matinees on Feb. 18 and 25.

Witness Glinda as she emerges from her floating bubble, the Wicked Witch as she flies on her broomstick, and the high-flying antics of the flying monkeys that defy gravity.

Frank Roberts is the director/choreographer for this production, joined by Music Director Ann Stewart. Barrington’s Shannon Corey will play Dorothy. David Geinosky, Kevin Goss and Jeff Cook, will portray Dorothy’s friends and protectors the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion, respectively. Jody Goldman and Peter Verdico will play the Wicked Witch of the West and Wizard of Oz, respectively.
