Car rolls over in Bartlett collision

Firefighters had to extract a driver from her car after a rollover accident Friday afternoon in Bartlett, authorities said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred about noon on northbound Route 59 at Red Oak Drive. One of the cars ended up on its roof, trapping the driver inside, according to the Bartlett Fire Protection District.

Fire district personnel removed the driver’s seat belt to remove her from the vehicle, and she was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with nonlife-threatening injuries. Authorities said further injuries to the driver were prevented because she was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated by paramedics on the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
