IMSA seeks submissions for art exhibit, auction

Submitted by IMSA

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy invites submissions for the IMSA25 Art Exhibit and Auction to be held during its 25th anniversary gala this spring.

Applications for submission of artwork are due Friday, Feb. 2, and can be found online at imsa25.com or by emailing IMSA25 Director Britta McKenna at bmckenna@imsa.edu. Donated artwork or artwork created specifically for the IMSA25 Art Exhibit and Auction will be considered.

IMSA’s 25th anniversary theme “Energy and Innovation” celebrates the academy’s 25 years of leading the way for science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in Illinois and beyond. Proceeds from the IMSA25 Art Exhibit and Auction benefit the IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education and specifically help fund the two IMSA25 initiatives, IMSA FUSION and the IMSA Energy Center.

Artwork submitted is juried for possible inclusion in the exhibit and becomes property of the IMSA Fund if accepted. Artists receive a commission based on the auction sale price or they may opt to make their artwork an outright donation to the IMSA Fund.

“IMSA is well known for our exceptional mathematics and science, and it is appropriate during this silver anniversary year to showcase our creative side through a celebration of art,” said Clay Sewell, IMSA art faculty member and IMSA25 Art Exhibit Jury Chairman.
