Central open house showcases renovations

Des Plaines Elementary District 62 invites the public to tour the renovated Central Elementary School during an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at the school, 1526 Thacker, Des Plaines.

The bulk of renovation work, which started last spring, was completed during summer break before classes started in the fall. Much of the work involved infrastructure improvements.

Central’s renovation is a part of a master facilities plan involving infrastructure upgrades, renovated classrooms, safer school entrances, safer and more efficient traffic patterns and parking, and improved stormwater management. Technology infrastructure and classroom capabilities also were upgraded.
