Waukegan man slain during carjacking
A Waukegan man was shot and killed early Thursday during what authorities are describing as an apparent carjacking outside his home.
Carlos Hernandez, 44, suffered multiple gunshot wounds after the 6 a.m. carjacking. He was found several blocks from his home after his vehicle was taken, authorities said.
Waukegan police Thursday afternoon indicated they were in the process of making multiple arrests in connection with the slaying, but no other details were made available.
Word of the arrests came after police confirmed they had been searching for suspects in an apartment complex at Genesee and Julian streets for three suspects.
