The village of Round Lake Beach will light the 45-foot Christmas tree at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 outside the village hall, off Hook Drive behind Regal Cinemas west of Route 83. The Round Lake High School Choir will sing carols, with Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving by fire truck about 6:15 p.m., ahead of the tree lighting about 6:30 p.m. Kids can visit and get their pictures taken with Santa next to the fireplace, and hot drinks and treats, kids holiday crafts and music will be available. The first 150 families will receive a "Round Lake Beach Holiday Shopping Bag", with coupons and trinkets from local businesses. Call (847) 201-9032 or visit www.villageofroundlakebeach.com/.
