Three charged in Aurora Township robbery

Three men have been charged with robbing a man in unincorporated Aurora Township.

According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:30 a.m. Sunday a vehicle approached a 19-year-old man who was walking near White and Calumet avenues. Two men got out of the vehicle, and one of them pointed a gun at the man, demanding he empty his pockets. The victim gave him his cellphone, and they left.

Three hours later, Aurora and North Aurora police stopped a vehicle matching the description given by the victim, at Randall Road and Oak Street in North Aurora.

Police arrested Ricardo Juarez, who turns 18 Wednesday, of the 100 block of McDowell Place, Naperville; Gerardo Juarez, 18, of the 100 block of West Blair Street, West Chicago; and Marco Morales, 17, of the 1200 block of North Avenue, West Chicago.

Each has been charged with armed robbery, a class X felony punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison.

Morales was being held on $250,000 bail, Gerardo Juarez on $150,000 bail and Ricardo Juarez on $350,000 bail.
