5K run/walk in Palatine to benefit cancer patients

The public is invited to join Arlington Resources and Casey Accounting and Finance for a 5K run/walk on Oct. 15 to raise money for the Northwest Community Hospital Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.

The fund provides short-term emergency aid to patients being treated for cancer.

This race is a USA Track and Field sanctioned event and will be professionally timed. Awards will be given to the top three females and males in each age group: 15 and younger; 16-24; 25-39; 40-59; and 60 and older. The race will be held at the Deer Grove Forest Preserve, Dundee and Hicks Road, Palatine. Fee is $25. Registration begins at 8 a.m.; the race at 9 a.m.
