Donations needed for WINGS silent auction

Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod and his wife, Joane, are asking for donations that will be used in a silent auction Oct. 12 benefiting WINGS, a local organization that helps homeless and abused women and children.

The silent auction will take place at an event being hosted by McLeod at the Sears Centre called Hoffman Estates WOW! A goal has been set to raise $20,000 at the event for WINGS, which stands for Women In Need Growing Stronger.

he money will go toward safe houses, career training, counseling and more.
