Many made Heritage Fest a success

During the weekend of Sept. 16-18, West Dundee held its 14th annual Heritage Fest. We were blessed with wonderful weather for two days, a great sense of community spirit for the entire weekend and many visitors who expressed their gratitude for the fest.

While I appreciate knowing people have enjoyed themselves, the real thanks goes to the many West Dundee employees, residents and nonresident volunteers who set up, staffed and worked to put on this event.

We are extremely appreciative to all of our volunteers and coordinators for their efforts. However, special thanks must go out to Barb Traver and Kim Tibbetts for their part in organizing the entire event, as well as Pam Griffin, Lisa and Wes Eberly and Meghan Uhl for all of their efforts in providing the quality entertainment that makes this festival so appreciated.

I would also like to acknowledge the public works department and the police and fire departments in ensuring the success of this festival.

Lastly, I’d like to express our appreciation to all who participate in this event and take the opportunity to come to our historic downtown and appreciate the great pride and sense of community spirit that is alive and well in West Dundee. That in itself makes all of the work and preparation for this event worthwhile.
