Some don’t bother to tidy up for dogs

I’ve been walking my dogs in Madison Meadow Park in Lombard for 15 years and have found it no problem to pick up after them. Almost all of my neighbors and others who enjoy walking their dogs in the park have done the same.

Unfortunately, I have been finding, of late, that many do not bother to pick up after their dogs, either because they ignore the leash law, as well, and are too lazy to walk across the park to where their dog did its business or they are simply inconsiderate by nature.

I saw one lady allow her dog (without a leash) to go right in the middle of the baseball field adjacent to the elementary school without giving so much as a second thought to walking over and picking it up.

It is unfortunate that responsible pet owners who have enjoyed using Madison Meadow Park for many years, may eventually lose the privilege to walk their dogs in the park, as has happened in many communities because of irresponsible and inconsiderate pet owners. All it will take will be a complaint by disc golfers, football or baseball players, or the elementary school.
