It’s time to call out GOP as obstructionist

What? Another long delay in job funds for disaster relief, debt ceiling crisis? Now the Republicans are delaying the signing of Obama’s jobs bill that could get this country back on its feet and workers with money in their pockets.

The time for conciliation and bipartisanship with Republican legislators has long passed. GOP obstruction and watering down of every single piece of legislation over the past 2½ years has kept millions of Americans out of work and nearly 17 percent of Americans living in poverty, while the very wealthy have seen their wealth skyrocket.

It’s time to call them out for focusing on ousting the president and not helping out-of-work Americans. It’s time to call out every single signer of the Norquist pledge — Republicans pledged to not raise taxes on rich and corporations — and forcefully explain why the Bush tax policy has crippled this nation.

It’s time to point out every jobs-related bill Republicans have blocked in the Senate. It’s time to demand elimination of the Bush tax cuts for the rich, subsidies to profitable corporations and corporate tax loopholes.
