CareerPlace free seminar to help job seekers improve image

You may realize your handshake is an important part of a job interview, but what does the position of your feet tell someone about you?

Are you putting yourself at a disadvantage the moment you start an interview, or even before? What are you doing that might work against you? What can you do to gain a slight edge in your interviews and job search?

Get fresh insight into key aspects of how and why people get hired, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept 22 at CareerPlace, 600 Hart Road, Suite 275, Barrington (across the street from Barrington High School).

Beverly Chana, president of Professional Career Services, will share insights she’s gleaned in a 30-year career providing professional career services to people looking to change positions or get a job.

The free session is open to anyone seeking a job. Call CareerPlace, (847) 304-4157, or log onto www.mycareerplace.org.

Chana’s presentation, “What They See is What They Get,” looks at how we are perceived by others during job searches. Chana strives to help organizations realize the largest possible return from their single largest investment, their people.

In addition to consulting with corporations, she also provides motivation and business education services to women and men.

For nearly 20 years, CareerPlace, Jumpstart Your Job Search, has been helping unemployed professionals in Chicago and the suburbs succeed in getting hired.
