Solyndra scandal merits coverage

I’m surprised the Sept. 16 issue of the Daily Herald had no mention of the investigation by the House of Representatives and the Treasury Department into a $535 million loan guarantee to a solar equipment manufacturer, Solyndra.

The company has filed for bankruptcy and the $535 million of taxpayer money is lost. The $535 million funded through the U.S. Energy Department was part of the $787 billion stimulus package of President Obama. A major investor in Solyndra was the family foundation of George Kaiser, a major contributor to Obama’s presidential campaign. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel may be involved.

I think the Daily Herald should be reporting on this issue.
