Celebrities should respect national anthem

Am I the only one who is totally disgusted with so-called famous singers being invited to major public events to sing our national anthem and they don’t even know all the words and they’ll try to “jazz it up” instead of singing the proper melody.

Is it asking too much for you idiots to practice before performing this solemn privilege? Why not use teleprompters; or, you could pre-record and lipsync. Or better yet, you could just not do it at all and leave it to those who show true respect and patriotism by making an effort to understand the meaning of every word and by singing our National Anthem properly.

For example, the Naval officer who sang the National Anthem at the 9/11 Memorial Service held at Shanksville, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 10, was a perfect example of how it should always be sung at public events.
