Bring entire family to Primrose Farm Frolic

It’s time again for the annual Primrose Farm Frolic. This family event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at Primrose Farm Park, 5N726 Crane Road, St. Charles.

Admission is $8 for ages 12 and older, $4 for ages 2 to 11 and free for ages 2 and younger. All activities are free. Funds raised from this event will support the continued development of Primrose Farm.

Children’s activities include a straw maze, face painting, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, a “make and take” project by Heinz Brothers Greenhouse, an Ag in the Classroom project by the DuPage County Forest Preserve District, barn building by Kline Creek Farm and a build a box project by Home Depot Store 6923.

Family activities include corn cannon launching, horse-drawn wagon rides and a gallery of old-fashioned games. All ages will enjoy a variety of demonstrations, including husking, firewood cutting, corn shelling, blacksmithing and more.

Indian corn, pumpkins, gourds, organic vegetables and more will be available for purchase from Sweet Home Organics. You may also enjoy a display of traditional antique farm equipment, traditional folk music performed by recording artist Lee Murdock, touring the many farm buildings built in the 1930s and more.

This year refreshments will be available for purchase from the organic, home-cooked kitchen of Inglenook Pantry. STC Underground Teen Center will operate the make your own caramel apple station and sell cookies for an additional cost as a fundraiser for its teen programs.

Parking is available off Bolcum Road, west of Crane Road.
