With God’s help we can handle our trials

Let’s take a tour around a typical block in your hometown. We’ll check in on your neighbors, down the block, across the street and right next door. How many of their scenarios are you familiar with? It seems like the roll of the dice is turning snake-eyes. Foreclosure, the sudden passing of a spouse, loss of a pet, disease, long hospitalization, loss of a job, an auto mishap, a power outage. You get the picture. Bills and debt piling up, loss of net worth, loneliness, lack of compassion, lack of direction.

No matter where you turn, Murphy’s Law rules. The storms, the politics, the money, the health of not just you or me, but of our families, our neighbors, our friends. Who recently hasn’t been touched negatively? But what do they say: “When one door closes, another opens.” We are a resilient people. A nation of doers. A melting pot endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. A society searching for answers.

“Formerly, when religion was strong and science weak, men mistook magic for medicine; now, when science is strong and religion weak, men mistake medicine for magic.” — Thomas Szasz

I believe that when one is flustered and Google doesn’t have the answers you seek, there is only one legitimate source that is open 24 hours, 365 days a year. Omnipotent, ever-encompassing, no guesswork here!

“God does not play dice.” — Albert Einstein
