Shoe Factory Road closing until end of month

A section of Shoe Factory Road in Hoffman Estates will be closed starting Monday until the end of September.

The Canadian National Railway Co. will close the road at the railroad tracks near the intersection of Shoe Factory Road and Brindlewood Drive on Sept. 12.

Contractors from the company will be replacing the track crossing material and installing a median barrier to maintain the “Quiet Zone” designation, among other work. The closure is expected to last until Friday, Sept. 30.

Alternate routes include roads in the Prairie Stone Business Park north of I-90 or Golf Road to the south.
